Improved strategic execution, under pressure

A new strategy for the Danish department of the BEUMER Group had great economic potential. However, the leadership group lacked the ability to strategically execute the strategy efficiently. A number of cultural barriers made it very difficult to achieve the full benefits of the strategy.

 

The challenge

In a market with increasing competition, there were strong indications that it would be difficult to realise the a new strategy at the company, valued at DKK 35 million.

The approach

The main execution barriers in BEUMER's company culture needed to be identified in order for the strategy to be implemented effectively.  A custom strategic execution package was developed and all managers were trained in innovative and dynamic strategic execution.

The result

The leaders have created greater ownership of the strategic initiatives and now have a higher degree of accuracy in pinpointing strategies that have a realistic strategic execution level. This has contributed to an increase in revenue of 8% and an increase in earnings of 75%.
