COWI had drawn up ambitious strategies, but the organisation was unable to implement them quickly and and with effectivity. An analysis was therefore conducted focusing on how COWI could increase their implementation power. With this in mind, COWI chose to implement a number of organisational efforts that had a noticeable effect on their bottom line in a market with high competition.
The challenge
COWI had great ambitions, but in spite of skilled managers and staff, the implementation of the strategies was not strong or effective enough. Many resources were invested in communicating the strategy, but the results did not materialise.
The approach
Careful analysis of the organization gave answers to what had the most impact on the success of the strategies. On this basis, the management of COWI selected a number of focus areas, which were turned into concrete and effective actions.
